MALAYSIAN HAIKU AUGUST 31, 2003

today august 31 is national day for malaysia. some haiku

about his;

sudirman brings us

triumphantly into

another national day

national day

the dead singer still sings

its joy

sudirman brought back the best asian entertainer award

from london in the 80s. he died in the 90s but every national day, his patriotic songs still fill the air.

myriad little flags

the pride

behind the swing

so many flags moving to and fro at dataran merdeka (independence square). the power behind them could move

mountains.

counting

the blessings -

another national day

malaysia has experienced many tribulations but on national day

we prefer to count blessings.

national day

still waiting for the day

when we prefer ourselves malaysian

multi-racial malaysia needs to get citizens to feel

malaysian first...that's what nation building is all about.

every citizen should feel being part of the same entity which fuels that inspiration to work for the best of the country.

national day

a small country tries

to defend the rest

malaysia has been leading the developing world in many world

conferences and very often speaking up for them. the small country does not feel itself small.

malaysia

a small country

that does not feel small
