Just A Moment

In all of life could there not,
be more than this moment's grace
when on the hour of your departure,
here in my arms I hold,
my hearts fufillment,
as if time had no ebb or flow.

And lo a ship carries her away,
but the wrinkle of a grin is on me,
who'd have expected,
that lust could leave such lasting gifts;
to a heart that's far too honest.

Yet when the mem'ries grey with age,
and our short time is all but forgotten,
I will gaze at the stars in wonder,
if your light still shines among them...
