Heavy Rain

Raindrops tap a nonsensical melody,

Whilst all he craves is silence.

The empty pools show shallow graves

Of times left unadored.

This concrete jungle, void of love

Will never again be seen

As with brimming to spill

Of time to kill

And praised with hope for more.

Tear your duvet and rip out

The comfort with which you

Loved to clutch.

Be sure again you won't befriend

The sanctity of pleasure.

For this empty house is dark and dank,

Pungent of what he'd hoped.

And so poison emerged

From his horrid thoughts;

Snaked and swirled amongst the cold walls

And have left the place uninhabitable.

His screams have drowned in the shallow depths

Of the rippled water that knows no death

And won't relent but will remain instead

And patter on within his own head.

So be on your knees and drink it all

What has been poured upon you so.

But do so quickly or else you'll know

What happens when it flows.
