I'd like to make
Everything perfect again
I'd do it in a heartbeat
But every time I get close
I come up short
And I'm overwhelmed with defeat

And I apologize
For breathing endless lies
When I look into your eyes
And say I'll make it right
...this time.

I'd like to change
This horrible situation
I'd do it in a heartbeat
But I can't help it
I'm destined to fail
I'm beaten down by defeat

I'd drive off the edge of the Earth
Risk my life to better yours
If I could only see you tonight
I might last until tomorrow
And another day
