Saturday Night Movie

Alone again, a poem again – it’s Saturday night,

Stay positive, tell myself the improbable – just might,

Time passes, short hand moves from horizontal to vertical, the possibility slumps,

Heart stagnant, no girl to give me chest pains, stomach knots or goose bumps,

You’d think these silly emotions, by now I’ve out grown,

No, every evening same, failure I’m forced to condone,

Please hear me, significant other with meaning,

Eternal nothingness, living but the pre screening,

Each day the movie creeps closer, in the theater but no one else is there,

Why is it so difficult to connect? Without use, love in disrepair.
