Outside Looking In

She lives with so much hurt- Yet she's able to stay content,

There's so much pain inside of her- But she's good at playing pretend.

She's a friend to who ever needs one- Her whole life she's tried to be one,

But her heart remains to be empty- Cuz her whole life she's continued to need one.

Every day is just a re-run- She's everyones shoulder to cry on,

But when she cries the tears go unnoticed- She has no one to rely on.

Her mom is always around- But some things can't be said,

Her past continues to haunt her present- Things she did that she now regrets.

She wants to reset- Start a new game- But the memories are carved inside,

So at night when she lays down and prays- She asks for help and continues to cry.

The tears escape her eyes- Each filled with a piece of her heart,

And etched into the water are pictures of the past- That constantly tear her apart.

Stare into her eyes, realize the emptiness- That is covered by the blanket of despair,

But if you go deeper you can see into her soul- A glimpse of vulnerability that is rare.

She's calling for help but not making a sound- The screams are comming from her eyes,

That's why I'm wiping the tears that are strolling down her cheek- Everytime that this girl starts to cry.
