3. Goodbye (Part 3)

It's really over...So I'm saying Goodbye...
I did everything I could to try and make 'us" work,
But in the end it just led me to more hurt- But it was worth.
Every bit of my trying- But I'm tired of crying,
Tired of lying- To myself, sitting and asking why and.
Did I do something wrong- To make you wanna be gone,
It feels like it's been so long- Since I wrote that very first poem.
To you, and it was entitled- "The Best That I Can",
And I promised I did my best- I gave you all of who I am.
Did my best to be a man- And to hold on to what we had,
But my grip got tired- And you slipped through my hands.
So I guess this is goodbye- To what used to be you and I,
To me and you, us two- To those late calls at night.
Because I know you have another life- And you gotta live it how you like,
But as long as you're happy- Then I'm gonna be alright.
But for now, I'm gonna lock our love away- We can go our separate ways,
And if it's meant to be- We'll pull it out again one day.
Our journey was one to remember- The path we traveled together,
Helping each other along- We just made each other better.
And I will never forget you- And all the things you've done,
And maybe one day I'll get you again- 'Cuz maybe you are the one.
But for now,"I Can't Love You No More"- So as these last tears are cried,
In my heart you will be forever- But for now, I'm saying goodbye.
