THE LAST GOLDEN MOMENT

As the comet trail

Reached our atmosphere

Burning a brilliant blue

I strolled the beach

Gazing at the sunset

Twas ever more golden

Than I had remembered

The wet sand felt luxurious

Scrunching between my toes

The October breeze

Was gentle and cool

And faintly scented

With a hint of remorse

Remorse for things

I had never done

Remorse for words

I had never said
