What I Never New Would Come

A moment before this new life began,

I held my life with just one hand.

But with you I'm learning to stand,

learning to love, and become a true man.

Somehow I know you feel the same way.

You've been hurt before; thrown away

When the dance ended, just before you left,

You held out your heart, and gave me your best.

How could I have been so ignorant as to not see,

You always will, and always had loved me.

I was doing my best to show you I care,

When you told me that soon you wouldn't be near.

I didn't know what to say or do.

I just stood there, thinking of how I cared for you.

Now I don't know what will happen, but all I can say,

Is that I know I love you,

till that moment I leave, on my very last day.
