This Christmas Night

Waiting for you,
In the pale light of my Christmas tree
I sit and ponder if you got my letter
I’ll be waiting for you
I’ve been drinking white wine
And wearing that beautiful red dress
Waiting for you
The night grows shorter
Yet, I sit and ponder
Where are you?
I hope you didn't forget
I close my eyes and listen
To the Christmas songs playing
I hear the door open
But no one entered
I feel your warm embrace on my skin
I turn around, but you're not there
I know we're miles apart
But, for some reason I hear your voice
I must be dreaming
This can't be real
I look out the window
Just to see the sky, it is clear
I see the sky, it's clear
I see nothing but stars and falling snow
I try to hold back the tears
But, they keep falling
Where is my love this Christmas night?
I hear your voice, feel your touch
I must dreaming again
I just hope wherever you are
You can't get my out of your mind
No matter where you are this Christmas night
I want you to know I'll be by your side

Author's Notes/Comments:

Just a poem I wrote thinking of everyone who's loved ones might not be there this Christmas, no matter where they are, for in a different state, dead, or just miles away... they will be there with you on your Christmas day no matter what your doing... as long as you keep your mind and heart open they'll find a way to come in... for their spirt and part of their heart is with you no matter what...

I miss you dad and mom... and I wish I was in Oklahoma with you for the holidays... and rest in peace Grandfather and Grammother Moore... you'll always have a place in my hearts.. no matter where you are..
