and so

i fell in love with you on every mountain

on every shore

i fell asleep buried in you like you had been there before i was really awake

and so

i fell in love with you on both sides of a coin

it never landed it just kept flying

and i couldn’t see an ending to the flames

and so

i fell in love with the way you move like the tips of trees

with the way you pull me toward something that feels the most like lightning

i only see a need to speak when the sun sets

and it is blazing right in my eyes

the minutes spin you into my life

and i see no need for second chances

i would do it all over again like a storybook

flip back to the beginning and

taste your lips on mine
