Today Is That Tomorrow

When I was just a little kid, no taller than Dad's knee,

I'd worry 'bout tomorrow and my future destiny.

I'd run to Daddy for advice and this is what he'd say:

"Today is that tomorrow that you dreaded yesterday."

He'd say to me, "Don't worry, now, tomorrows aren't so bad,

Now run along, enjoy your life, and don't you look so sad.

Just think of what I'm sayin' when the world gets in your way:

Today is that tomorrow that you dreaded yesterday."

I'll never really understand, just why I worried so much

My growin' up was normal, filled with smiles 'n tears 'n such.

But each and every mornin' when he woke me he would say,

"Today is that tomorrow that you dreaded yesterday."

Each day has it's tomorrows, and my Daddy was so right,

Tomorrows only seem so bad because they're not in sight.

So now, when each tomorrow comes, I think of it this way,

"Today is that tomorrow that I dreaded yesterday."
