The Cloak

Palms to palms we touch secured
Down the rabbit hole too slowly

Why can't we wake up once more
Once from a cloud there came a light

Something we could only dream
And in the storm that hid great sights
He came like a thief in the night .

We mowed our lawns and ate our lunch
The ground trembled and shook and such

But yet we never removed the blindfold
Saw things we have seen for years

And the President gave a speech
With great applause he deserved
From the audience of the Earth.

I gave the clerk my money
And he took it with no thought.

I ate my food and wished for more
My cloak has been built a bit.

Yet my shoes were warn to no sole
And I never went to get some more
Only gravel roads were ment for me.

And He said unto me, "You are my child."
And I said, "Yes Father, I am your child."
And He said, "I will always love you."

A hand was placed on my back
And my wings spread slowly.
My feet felt no Earth
And I was spared the tears had before.
And He said, "I still love you."
While I picked the gravel from my wounds.
And let the waters wash the blood.

The sunset gave slight comfort.
As the world went to sleep.
Yet my scars still remained.
On my feet they were laid.
On my soul they are still bleeding.
Waiting.
For my Father.
