A fragment of life
WIth shattered bits of lust
Solemnly encaged
Frozen in an icy dust

A translucent shell
Emotion barely audible
Depression overwhelming
How was this plausible?

Dreams became nothing
Yet, eyes did not dwindle
Finger pricked so slightly
Knowing he was my thimble

Salty crystal drops
Now brushed my lashes
Embodiment of despair
Reopened all healed gashes

As thoughtless days
Blurred swiftly together
Merely a poetic dream
Of you and I forever
