The Greedy Elephants

Penguins were created to live on cold glaciers surrounded by freezing waters, they live a happy life, as they are excellent swimmers and with their thick skin they can easily survive the freezing temperatures of the glacier, feeding themselves by eating fish from the oceans. On the other hand, elephants live in the savannah, also having thick skin, as the penguins, but living in hot weather, eating grass and plants. One day the elephants got greedy and decided they wanted more space and thought they were strong and big enough to take over penguin-land, thinking that they only required thick skin to survive. In order to have more dominance of the animal kingdom, they traveled to penguin-land to conquer the glaciers. As penguins standed no chance against elephants, once the elephants arrived to their territory they had to flee to open water, swimming so far without a place to stand they started dying from exhaustion. Once all the elephant pack stood on top of the glacier, feeling strong, powerful and dominant, the massive weight of the elephants made the glacier sink. This caused the ocean level to rise, flooding the entire world. Even though the elephants knew how to swim, the cold water started to go through their thick skin killing them by hypothermia and because they didn’t know how to fish, they also started dying from hunger. But this act of seeking power not only led the penguins and elephants to extinction. Thanks to the flooding, all kinds of animal species began to die. At first, as the water level started to rise, animals such as bears and lions started eating sea animals, such as fish, tortoises and dolphins, all life in the sea became extinct. Ice in general started melting, forcing polar animals to swim without rest killing them from exhaustion, soon the whole world flooded. The flood ended with forests, deserts and complete mountain ranges. Even birds who were flying to protect themselves from the flood didn’t stood a chance and also died from exhaustion, falling one by one from the sky. Slowly but surely all living creatures died, and planet earth became a big water planet.

The world used to be a perfect place, with balanced habitats for each specie, a world designed to perfection by God, however the greediness of the elephants as they wanted more land, ended with the world, if only they were smart enough to share the world with other earth inhabitants, they would still be living a happy savannah life.
