weary sojourner

walking aimlessly

waiting 

avoiding battle

body aching

ignorance (chance for escape)

turning toward the staircase

stare (eyes magnetized 

dusty railing

effect of pulling

first step

gliding hand

kicking up memories

pictures passing scene by scene

floating thick dense atmosphere

flock of feelings staying there

taking on every weight

(had wished for that escape)

walking slowed to a stop

heavy chains key and lock

stairwell dark and cold

pictures now growing old

tearing right in half

with crowning Devil's laugh
