hypocrites

We are hypocrites,
we rule ourselves out.
It's not our fault, yet it is.
Hypocrites aren't well all.
We shadow it with shoulder shrugs
and "who cares" above it all.

When we see our faults at hand
We look in ourselves to a barren land
But buried deep within the dust
Under the perceived gold and to the rust
There we find our defeats
And that is when your heart grows weak

In your mind you know it's true
Hypocrite
I see you

I run to You for I only know
Where to run and where to go
When I see myself inside
My selfish, arrogant, foolish pride
There lies conviction pale and raw
Now I don't stand so tall
I seek You in the midst
Of this "not that big of deal" trick

I love you and I want others to know
And not just look beneath the jokes
I don't care if it's only me
I want you so very badly

Jesus
You died for us to live
Not to mock, but to forgive.

Yes, hypocrite
you are set free
by your Father
where His forgiveness breathes

Now breathe
