God's Saving Grace is sovereign; having read and heard
the Gospel, my soul came to Jesus, though very
late---but received by Christ unto secure Salvation,
on a Sunday (nor did I tarry
that day): my poems witness to the miraclee that occurred
(despite the doubters' skeptic derogation),
when, going forward, they are signed with the appellation
that I sign here, the final to be preferred . . .
Starward . . .
(the closing appellation, no longer to be questioned or deferred).
On my tombstone place it to appear once more,
after my going forth to the Savior Whom I adore,
the Christ, in Whose Salvation
by Grace through Faith is my soul's chief exultation.
My life proceeds toward Heaven: the statement needs no gloss.
Please mark my grave with the sign of my Savior's triumphant cross.
Starward, a Saved and Baptized Christian
