He Writes Some Lines In Groups Of Three

He write some lines in groups of three;

and some in groups of four.

No pattern holds consistently:

the rhymes are slant and poor.

He makes the art a parody,

thinking that less is more,

He pimps his victim, Poetry,

and makes of her a whore.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is not an indictment of any contemporary Poet I know; for no real Poet prostitutes Poetry.  The scribblers I had in mind were Colley Cibber and Lewis Theobald, pimps of bad verse who lack of verbal skill and knowledge of the art was soundly and justly attacked by Alexander Pope, in his mock epic, The Dunciad.
