Poetaster

To seize some face-time, he is quite the haster;

and of readers' attention, a sure waster;

his title accurate---The Poetaster.

He tries to make an epic of his heart's

conniptions---passing them like cabbage farts.

Bad verse comes easy to him, as eacy piece

exudes out of him, like hot, bubbling grease

and that befits a proven Master Baister.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The word Poetaster was coined by the Dutch Christian scholar, Erasmus---who, one is sure, must have had quite a knowledge of old books.
