Brief Undergrad Thesis On Modernist Poetry

Great Thomas Jones, forgotten; Cunningham

(J.V.) ignored as if not worth a damn;

but that first class poseur, the "madman" Pound,

lacked basic insight and his unprofound

Cantos are like a blight on all poems' ground.

He, with Old Possum, schemed a highbrow scam

that academics call "High Modernists."

But when their students carve all but the gist

away, they find only a hollow sham.
