My chest rises and falls
to the sound of the secret wall
that rises here between us
leaving me not to touch you at all
though we tried
behind it we hide
not to show our faces
not to see the world inside
we could break it brick by brick
but its growing rather thick
how did this rise between us?
It seemed to happen so quick
I can hear you through the concrete
I can hear your silent heart beat
but I cannot speak to you
until once more we meet
will you hold me again one day
will we have the strength to say
the things that we've hidden behind this wall
never again let things happen this way?
I really want to talk to you
I want everything you say to be true
I want to listen to it all
