though we kept at it
we couldnt change a thing
It just didnt fit
so who were we trying to fool
we knew it wasnt meant to be
but we played it cool
until the day
we had to break
nothing more to say
the love was fake
left a bitter taste
on our tongues
and it was a waste
felt like I was trying to breath
with no lungs
you couldnt even look me in the face
when you lied about it all
when you told me that you loved me
how I made you fall
we knew from the beginning
none of it was true
wouldnt allow ourselves to see
there was nothing we could do
we have admitted wrong
the lies we told ourselves
we tried to imagine something different
to make us feel well
we couldnt make it last long
now we both know
