Time

You burn down the hourglass

to prevent facing the truth

hold the sands of time

keep lit the flames of youth

try to keep the years

from slipping to far away

life is a huge game of chess

its your turn to play

you see your face grow pallid

slowly you begin to fade

you try to calm the inner turmoil

your lost behind a palisade

the sides are asymetrical

on your side lies the past

you want to be the future

and make your chess game last

you want to escape the trammel

from which you've been caught

go back to the way things were before

brag of the battle you fought

but that is not the way God intended

all are born to die

we live our life with no way to change this

no one really knows why

time is not in your control

you cannot change whats written in the stars

forget your ideology

and accept who you are
