lucky turn

Folder:
OBSERVATIONS...

If Only the world gave us
what the universe owed us
The luck earned for duty
hasn't returned from the black hole yet.
Walking past opportunity
not a stones throw away thinking
It's someone else's business.
Eyes down on the souls rushing past
as the cracks flashing past the pavements
rhythmic and fast a blur by where
The signs pointing the way are ignored
unless its perhaps a shop or street sign
Faith ignored execpt in
someone else's dream;
someone else's story.
Quitting on life,
choking on cigarettes,
speeding through the rush of lust
Calling on bullshit ideas of love,
falling for images eating without the meat,
drinking without the mead.
Breathing shallow;
thinking even shallower,
feeling more.
As we look up cursing and ask why?
Come on universe you know the score,
give us what weve worked for!
Then it answers in a still stirring voice
hanging around your collar,
it whispers then roars
"should've looked up before;
you would've noticed
what you were working for."
Realisng it was all yours,
it was just YOU the world was waiting for...
