The Angel & the Tramp

As Autumn falls I escape my cave

Each year that passes

barely supresses my rage

As the colours blind

My eyelids fall

And I remember it all.

Autumnal reds and golds

hide the colours of betrayal

The cruelty, the end

Or so I feared

Yet before me stands an Angel

so sweet, so kind

She holds my hand.

And guides me to a promised land.

The Angel and the Tramp

walk together

searching all the land

For his children

Taken by a mistress cruel.

Childhoods hurt by her rule.

Yet there is always hope

words need not be said

let fate be our judge instead.

And magic sprinkled here and there

will bring love home again.
