A child,

playing with her pigtails and jumping at the window,

staring at the black dots far away in the sky.

The moment she has been waiting for has arrived.

The dots materialize into black birds,

elegantly moving about, sure of their destinations.

Ecstatic from their presence, 

she began to sing

 

Oh birds, oh birds! 

You've finally passed my home!

Let me get you some snacks.

No, where are you going?

Oh birds, oh birds.

Oh, Mothers, they've left again.

So quickly.

Oh, Mother,

where are you?
