Forget Your Country

You saw yourself sitting in the tree

And forgot that you lived there

Becoming ever more embraced with the tree

Even though you hated it so

You lived for the moment to leave

Hugging the restraint to stay

You thought you could go at anytime

Ever more becoming part of your union

I saw you fall out of your tree

Showering thoughts like leaves

You've become lost and forgotten

You don't know what to do

I helped you climb after a time

And watched you run to your cage

You wanted to see the outside again

Forgetting what happened last time

You lived in that tree for so long

After a while you just don't care anymore

And then you can walk out and breathe new air

Ready to be accepted once again

Author's Notes/Comments:

Think of your tree as a country, and your leaves as what you want, and picture this around autumn...and you have a typical western country.
