I read your words

And then I reread them

Just so I could let myself

Sink into the depths of your words

That connect somewhere within the depths

Of a soul I thought was long lost

In the mire of this painful world.



You reawakened the pain within me

When it was taboo to feel

Blood was spilled

And mixed with my tears

Until I saw nothing but you

Hanging somewhere in the midst

Of dreams long forgotten

From a past I sometimes want to forget.



Somewhere in my dreams

You held me in your arms

Looking me in the eyes

Finally able to answer the questions

We both have been asking

Yet not wanting to tell me

So you whisper softly in my ear

"Take the journey

And meet me at the end".
