I've forgotten how to feel

As I watch a tear fall down your face

But wait

No

Not quite yet

That tear is mine

I cry for all that you cannot feel

For Me

While you wonder

Why I can't just accept you as you are

With all your problems and all your faults.

I thought I could

I thought I might

But I'm sorry to say I've failed

Yet again

A common theme in a not so common life

That is all too common to me

But then again

Who really cares?

I don't know what I want

From you

Right now, or somewhere out there

In a distant future neither one of us can predict

But maybe

Just maybe

This won't hurt too much

Right now.
