#7- "Dear Momma"

Dear Momma,

This one's for you.

I try to tell you about my life,

But sometimes you just don't have a clue.

I try to understand, I want to make you proud.

But it seems like nothing's good enough, no matter what I do.

Dear Momma,

This girl is still your baby.

Words hurt and can make her cry.

So do you think we could give it a try, just maybe,

For you to listen when I speak.

I try to talk, but you don't hear me.

Momma, oh Momma.

Sometimes I think you get it.

But then you turn around and yell.

And I think "Forget it."

But hey, If there's no wind, row.

Let's just start over, take it bit by bit.

Dear Momma,

Why is nothing I do good enough?

You always think I'm wrong.

You don't understand me, and how my life is rough,

And I'm tired of trying to explain.

I'm tired of trying to act tough.

Dear Momma,

I know you really care.

You just want the best for me,

But you can be so unfair.

Perhaps the only thing left between us,

Is playing solitare.

Momma, oh Momma.

Sometimes I think you get it.

But then you turn around and yell.

And I think "Forget it."

But hey, If there's no wind, row.

Let's just start over, take it bit by bit.

Dear Momma,

I wish we could be more close,

That I could tell you anything.

You know your love is sweet ambrose,

I just wish I could taste it.

But you can't accept me for who I am, I suppose.

Dear Momma,

I am not your clone.

I'm not gonna be just like you.

Sometimes you make me feel so alone.

But sometimes I can't get away,

I don't always need a chaperone.

Momma, oh Momma.

Sometimes I think you get it.

But then you turn around and yell.

And I think "Forget it."

But hey, If there's no wind, row.

Let's just start over, take it bit by bit.

Oh Momma,

This one's for you.

(fade)

Momma, oh Momma.

Sometimes I think you get it.

But then you turn around and yell.

And I think "Forget it."

But hey, If there's no wind, row.

Let's just start over, take it bit by bit.
