I can see our intersection
Where it is we may meet some day
But we'll head another way
If only for an hour or so
We'll speak of endless things
How we've all changed so harshly
The lack of good surprises
That things we've left behind
We'll enjoy each others voices
As we listen to our sounds
We'll compare our tastes for the thousandth time
And find some common ground
I'll enjoy it all again
Like all the years before
And wonder of the chances
Before reality finds me
Part of me may hope
While my logic weeps away
But tonight can't be the night
It's just another C-Drive
The air's still thick with reason
We'll laugh it off tomorrow
You've got another lover
And I'm glad he treats you right
I can hurt like this forever
The distance never changed
I guess my feelings need it
To feel aligned again
So I'll enjoy the trip
Indulging in us both
And as the day will follow
I'll be lost in my daydreams
I never want to lose you
A friend I can't replace
But I can't see any reason
For us to fall apart
And once I'm still and healthy,
I'll venture out once more
To find a girl to help me stand
And pretend she's better than you.
