Hand In My Head (Reaching for the Lunacy)

Cats like to climb different things

They're desperate to reach the ceiling

Goldfish feel kind of slow and sorry

One foot of ocean without salt or insecurity

We as a nation believe in a thing called space

Sad as it is to see it violated all over the place

I touch you, you touch me, I push you to the ground

One of us dies within moments of coming around

I woke up sober and couldn't believe,

what sat at the foot of my bed in front of me

A younger kind of me without any kind of closure

He couldn't stop sneezing and eventually lost his composure

How many times has this behemoth cruised our streets?

A stein of complex simplicity is indeed frightening

Did you know that a bit of Orion lines my cheek?

Stupid little pattern where my limitations leak

Felines and fishes that pitter and squirm

The pigeons ignored while pursuing the worm

I'd like to fight you fair on some faithful day

I'm just tired and don't know how much my head can take

I watched the window quietly when a dead man passed me by

He look so worried that I couldn't help but cry

Dead man rising, for the sake of me at least

Just rest a while before you try obtaining peace

It's not just me that believes beyond this dirt

It's for those of us who tend to prove their worth

But when I watch these spectacles beyond the shine

And recollect on these limitations of mine

I must repeat, in my loudest tone

"There is no L in one word alone."

And that's how it all went down.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I sort of like it. It's just stealing bits from all of my favorite poetry that I've written. Not that original, but fun.
