Refusing to Disappear

A smile is an evident burden

As happiness always fades into frown

Whether it be time, place, or person involved

Something always exists to pull us down

When there is no real antidote

Just pills and plants

They provide artificial solution

Giving you one more chance

A tendency leaning towards deprivation

Hit yourself in the face with this

Until you feel none of it's side effects

Your optimism should have been dismissed

Your clueless shroud

Shielding your face from the light

The truth that burns your eyes

And leaves scars upon your sight

I still worry for you

yet I pray for my salvation

This joy is just a passing memory

That refuses to die of starvation.
