Dandelion Days

Seas of bright sunshine yellow,
Blooming under summer skies,
A delight and a wonder,
To the ones whose minds still fly.

Swiftly flowers seem to change,
Replaced by white lacy globes.
And with a wish and a breath
We send the sky dancers home.

Like ballet dancers in white,
Spinning, on point, in a breeze,
They carry our wishes on,
To Heaven, if we believe.

And although years have gone by,
Have drifted away with time,
Smile at dandelion days
When wonder was yours and mine.
