Before I Met Her

Folder:
October 2015

I was a lazy man without his sofa,

just sittin back and sippin on a coke-a-cola,

thinking of finally leaving for California,

always wanting to quit cigarettes next Sunday mornin.

Now from sick habits i have freedom,

found my Eve and together we ditched Eden,

no demon can trick us to roll,

together we choose to grow conscious and old.

Stood in the cage until the pitches hit me,

slurring my words at the bottom of another whiskey,

strumming love songs to no one on my guitar,

but never singing the tunes too far.

Once this past felt so heavy,

now left on the side of the road, for our future i'm ready,

could it be time to fulfill the dream

that i had for myself when i was 16?
