The Woman:Poem II

Waiting for the Day

One single moment changed her life…

The charming world faded away;

That accident gave her darkness-

The same wretched murk everyday.

Now there were no vivid colors,

No splendor, no dazzling sunrays;

Below the chimes, above the tiles-

Helpless- there she stood in a haze.

They envied her till yesterday-

And now they were consoling her.

Their tones were harsh, their voices rough,

Her fate was knavish and austere.

Now the leaves whispered, rain shouted,

Birds didn’t fly, diamonds not vibrant.

Roses were not red any more,

Lilies could only be fragrant.

Hemmed in by the caring confines,

She felt feeble, frail, her mother

Soothed her saying that she could still be

Self-reliant and an achiever.

With this new positive power,

She marched outside confidently,

Only to realize before long,

Everything was not so easy.

She stood in a haze- wondering,

What hues did her mom make her wear

And did the jewellery even match?

She lost all color in despair.

Waiting for that fateful day when

Her carefree life she would regain-

Be lively and presentable,

Have her vision back once again.
