Enough

There's this girl who's insufficient
and she will never be enough.

Enough to ressurect the longing
to feel the emptiness of touch.

Enough to whisper words
that are the words you want to hear,

Enough to paralyze the twilight
that embodies every fear.

This girl will never fill a single void
or warm you like a fire.

You call this girl a poet
but she calls herself a liar.

Pretend if only for a night that she could be your lover.
Your sympothy might heal a wound,
might hypnotize another.

This girl that sits beside you, you see
likes to hurt herself.

She likes to paint a mask on
and pretend she is someone else.

Someone happy,
Someone loved,
Somone cared for,
Someone strong.

She tells herself somebody loves her,
but this troubled girl is wrong.
