Give Me A Hand

Thousands of people are dying

Many others have injured and are crying

Why don’t we care about our society?

And give care to nationwide harmony

The main goal was for them to be free

From the cruelness that was on a high degree

Now that their uncalled president is out,

Why should we be greedy and shout

Why should we try to steal their oil by force?

Like a rich man trying to steal a horse

And why kill the innocent Iraqi kids in flood

Like wanting to fill our tanks with their blood

Our soldiers are filling our graves

While we treat Iraqis almost like slaves

Controlling their resources and land

Just think about freedom and give me a hand

Author's Notes/Comments:

In this poem I expressed my feeling and thoughts toward the war that is happening in Iraq.  I disagree with the war because what is happening is not common sense, and I tried to view my point on that by using similes.  I compared what is happening to things that can make the reader understand that what I am trying to say is right.  Even though this poem may not do any difference in the war, but at least I let my feeling out towards it.
