My eyes jolted open. I was laying down on the cold hard ground, unsure of how I got there. The night sky hung over trees and the stars glistened.
I sat up and supported my posture with my hands. When doing this, I noticed the texture of the ground I was sitting on; it was asphault.
The next few moments were so sudden, so scary, that even I as the victim couldn't tell you anything about the last few seconds of my life. Its sad really because my death was extrodinary. It was unsual, but it didn't fulfill my own personal expectations. Since I am a brave person, I wanted a heroic ending. This may be a reason why I didn't flinch, but then again...I was always a few seconds behind.
For my next movfe was sitting up full in a straight stance. I criss-crossed my legs, and realized I was dead center of an intersection on a lonely street. At least, I thought it was lonely. I turned my head just in time to see the headlights of a truck three inches from my face....
....Then there was the end.
