A Day Renewed

Just a thought for the day

Have I done all that I should

In bedding down can I but say

All was done for that of good

As some things need be done in haste

And skipping those that are as fair

That seems not one was time to waste

No lack of injustice there

Others wait 'til time is right

With patience I could never have

With contentment at its height

And no remorse unto the bad

As fields of grass upon the hills

Endure the scorn of winter cold

That test and break all human wills

And crush a heart one hundred fold

And wait for spring to tend to them

To wash their eyes of natures sleep

A deed that comes not on a whim

Nay, with a devotion deep

Upon waking in the morn

Refreshed and born the day renewed

Armed with patience in times of storm

And all intentions misconstrued
