Never Fall

As fast as one year had passed

A girl would find a guy, at last.

Within this topsey turvey year

Unfolds a story not so clear.

It started when the leaves turned colors

that the star crossed would turn to vibrant lovers.

On such a day you could sense the way

that the normal life would go astray.

Whoever could have thought that she

Would look inot his eyes and see

And know why such an angel fell

from heaven, just to cast that spell.

A savior intended to help her through,

but his love she was destined to pursue.

Such hard times she was about to face;

To watch her life turn into disgrace.

She felt so sick, so weary and shaky.

He never felt well, he was always too achey.

She gave him all that she had inside,

but he never shared, he never tried.

Still she continued to remain so blind.

Knew he was sweet, gentle and kind.

But secretly he stood away.

Hid the fact he'd gone astray.

One night she would kneel and pray

for all her sarrows to go away.

To never, for even one more day

love this angel, because it may

destroy and deeply make her pay

for the rest of her life, or so they say.

"Never fall for the fallen" He said.

"It's just love that dangles over your head

to tease the mind as well as the heart

and peirces the soul, just like a dart.

And although you feel you'll never part,

it's bittersweet and not so smart.

For if you love the angels that fall,

it's bound to ruin you, once and for all!"

As soon as God made her realize

that her love would have to vaporize,

she tried so hard to stop her love

and again looked for help from up above.

But...

"I am doomed"

So even though it's been a while,

sometimes she still can't even smile.

She still wallows in the pain within

and knows she'll never fall again.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is one of my oldest poems. I found it in my old diary so I thought I'd post it.
