There is a voice
that follows you everywhere.
It speaks in the silence,
between mistakes, beneath the noise
of everything the world
has told you to be.
Be careful with that voice.
It can become a prison
or a place of refuge.
It can whisper,
"You will never be enough."
Or gently remind you,
You are still becoming.
Speak to yourself as you would
someone you deeply love.
Forgive the mistakes.
Honour the scars.
Encourage the tired heart
that kept going when no one knew
how difficult it was.
Let faith speak louder than fear.
Let kindness interrupt
the old conversations of doubt.
And when you stumble,
do not become another voice
telling yourself you have failed.
Become the one that reaches inward
and whispers, "Get up, my dear heart,
We are not finished yet."
Because of all the voices
you will hear in this lifetime,
the one that may shape you most
is the quietest, the voice within.
