   Break the rule just for me

   Just this time and no more after

   Not that I can't face the fact

   Nor that life is driving me madder

   It's only that I don't know how to react

   When journey becomes a bit too long

   And realize that I'm not that strong



   Break the rule just for me

   Except break it once, and not twice

   I know that you can hear me and hear me well

   I crawl at your feet and plead for an advice  

   Your silence leaves me like an eggshell

   That's ready to crack, split and shatter

   And I can't walk, but only stagger



   If you won't break the rule, bend it for me

   I'll be fine and happy if that will be so

   How soon I forget all the words you've said

   And my hungry ears yearn for more and more

   Gone are the burning fear and cold dread

   But somehow, all isn't right, all isn't well

   But thank you, I'll never hear you say farewell
