Wet Earth Dampened

Insulate nothing, I insinuate.
The tripping of the alarm
does not cause the
root to wither.
Wet earth dampened by the
hush of innocence.
She flutters like a brick dropping
and still has time
to pick a decision.
The raising of the conciousness
was a disguise.
She could see her past
but not her future.
Planes landing, planes flying away.
The RCMP at attention in the
handcuffs
of her
rhythm.
As she steps this way and that, that
way and this.
I calculate her removal from
my social calender.
She cares not and could care less,
she could care more
and she
could care again.
But she chooses instead to
paint her kitchen walls
pastel shadows of
red and black.
Until now she will not admit her resistance.
The kind of holding that never holds back.
The flavour of differences
disturbing the ignoring.
When she slides her clothing off over her
naked body,
I'll remind her of her promises to destroy for me.
