Silent Hours Of Courage

The silent hours passed

Sliding into morning.

The day again arrived

Unloved, without warning.

And oh! how life was sad

And oh! her thoughts were bad.

In another lifetime

The world had been her gift -

Love and beauty for her -

Now it was dust to sift.

And oh! how life was sad

And oh! her thoughts were bad.

Tired, lost once again

A day to still endure

Placing each foot slowly -

Nothingness had allure.

And oh! how life was sad

And oh! her thoughts were bad.

Let each step follow through

With a forward motion.

Dragging feet, dragging day.

Courage - no mere notion!

But oh! how life was sad

And oh! her thoughts were bad.
