Is it true that honesty breeds contempt?

If so, I see why I've not been exempt.



I've lived my life by the Golden Rule-

And I see I've been played for a fool.



So now I understand the twisted truth.

I am like a tiger without a tooth.



If I show respect, love for others

And honour all sisters and brothers

What does it really mean that I am?
