[for all young men who, like I was, are closeted and
struggle to find accepting and romantic companionship]
Two young queers find, and attract, each other:
falling in love, gently but eagerly, together
neither feels need to inquire of father or mother
(all four of whom strict); the boys do not ask
this is acceptable at home and in the local vicinity.
Nor can prudes and haters prove it a perversity;
or, less direct, an adolescent anomaly.
Each expands the other's developing personality:
always taking their shoes off, sometimes surreptitiously;
and joy in stripey socks, old horror films, and cookery.
