You Held on So Long

Folder:
High School Poems

When I heard, the news that morning,
I knew our lives, were going to change,
from that moment on, life without you,
was awful, uncomfortable, and strange.
The comfort of our home, was like a strong tree,
with you as our mighty roots,
but since you passed, that tree is down,
and now we are nothing but worn out boots.
Your new home, is six feet under,
with all the roses, and on top of your husband,
a man who you have not seen in years,
your closest friend.
And now when I get the feeling, that I am being watched,
I know who it can only be,
the person who held on for so long,
my lovable, Nonnie.
