My perfect crime

It’s a noticeable distance,

when you notice the growing difference

Between where I am and where I wish to be,

Don’t even get up, there still trying to find me.

It’s not like I never said it before,

Suddenly now you just chose to listen,

You do not speak until you are truly forgiven.

You do not smile until you are smiled at,

I tried many times, but I can’t forgive you for that.

Look at those hands, hands of destruction.

You take out the middle man, no use for seduction

Is this what you mean when you say ‘babe, I’m just looking for a good time’?

Now it gets personal, the news makes it impersonal, but this is my perfect crime.

Well I’ll just wait till this pain goes away.

But what if, just what if it forever stays.

Like some kind of incurable disease,

No matter how many pills I take, you’ll always be with me.

Would you take it all back?

Would you simply just walked home?

If you knew how that night were to end?

Would you of quickly just walked home?
